Almost There and Pick Up from Capital Quilters

Hi Everyone,

As the title of this posting suggests it is almost Quilt Festival day, the response has been great and we have been receiving lots of telephone calls regarding the cut off date.

All quilters are very similar and we are all inclined to leave things to the last minute, whilst we have over 30 quilts already, if you think you would still like to enter something you still have time, after much deliberation we have decided to extend the date to Sunday 31st January at 4.30pm and hope this assists those who are still stitching down binding etc.

Yvonne shall be at the Capital Quilters meeting on Saturday along with Julie Manu, so if you would like them to take your quilts up to Stonestead they can, just make sure you have all the correct documentation.

There will be just one more posting before the big event, so until next time.

Happy Binding

Latest Update

Hi Everyone,

Well time is marching on, so don’t forget to get your quilts into us along with the challenges, we welcome all entries and non quilters really enjoy seeing all your efforts and despite what you may think of your work there are many who will admire it and take pleasure seeing it being displayed here at Stonestead and all the donations go to Te Omanga Hospice.

Our volunteers are all geared up to climb ladders to hang your work and they will be displaying them to their best advantage.

If you need more information we are more than happy for you to phone or email us and we shall help as much as we can.

The above picture is of some of the volunteers last year hanging the quilts, come be a part of it.

Until next time

Another Update

Hi Everyone,

The updates will now get more regular as the 7th February draws closer, the volunteers are doing really well with the organising and there will be lots for you all to see.

Don’t forget if you have any queries about the festival just email or phone 04 526 2517 and we shall do our best to allay any fears you may have, if there are queries about the sizes of the quilts also just get in touch too.

Please send lots of happy thoughts for a lovely day, providing we don’t get rain all will be well.

Until the next time, just keep on piecing and quilting.

Happy New Year

Happy New  Year to everyone,

It doesn’t seem almost a year since the last Outdoor Quilt Festival, but planning is well underway for our next one being held on Sunday 7th February.

We have increased the categories this year to enable more entries as well as the Stonestead Challenge, all the packs have gone so the organising committee are all looking forward to seeing the entries, don’t forget you don’t have to be experienced just use your imagination. If you know of any under 15 year olds we now have category devoted these students, these are our future so encourage them to enter. Whilst doing that don’t forget your own entries, this is a great way for non quilters to see what can be achieved by being able to cut fabric accurately and sew 1/4 inch seams the rest is all imagination and inspiration.

Keep coming back to check on the updates and news, but above all keep on piecing and quilting and complete your projects, the registration forms and details can be downloaded from here or go into Sawmillers and pick them up from there.

Until next time
